Preview: Leeds United vs Millwall – Prediction, Team News, Line-ups

Leeds United will want to continue their excellent run when they welcome Millwall to Elland Road on Sunday afternoon.

The Whites are currently sitting second in the Championship table while Neil Harris’ side have moved up to 16th following their recent resurgence.

Match Preview

Leeds United have been impressive in the new year, winning 11 of their 12 matches in the English second tier.

They have now displaced Ipswich Town to the second automatic promotion place, having secured 79 points from 37 games.

Their latest success came on Friday at Sheffield Wednesday, with Patrick Bamford and Wilfried Gnonto scoring to seal a 2-0 triumph

With Leicester City enduring an indifferent form, Leeds have a great opportunity to overtake the Foxes in the race for the Championship trophy.

On the other hand, Millwall’s fortunes have greatly improved since Neil Harris returned to The Den last month.

The 46-year-old led his side to a 1-0 win over Birmingham City on Saturday, courtesy of Japhet Tanganga’s decisive goal.

The result means Harris has secured three victories from four Championship matches since arriving at the South East London outfit.

It has been an incredible turnaround for Millwall who previously lost six times in seven matches.

Team News

Leeds boss Daniel Farke is expected to feature the same team that won 2-0 over Sheffield Wednesday last time out. Patrick Bamford will lead their attack alongside Crysencio Summerville and Wilfried Gnonto, while Joe Rodon and Ethan Ampadu will be starting in central defence. Meanwhile, Jaidon Anthony will return to the squad but he is expected to be on the bench alongside Daniel James and Joel Piroe.

As for Millwall, manager Neil Harris is also expected to keep the same starting XI that beat Birmingham last weekend. However, Shaun Hutchinson, Tom Bradshaw and Kevin Nisbet will all be missing due to injuries.

Leeds United vs Millwall potential line-ups

Leeds United: Meslier; Gray, Ampadu, Rodon, Firpo; Gruev, Kamara; Gnonto, Rutter, Summerville; Bamford

Millwall: Sarkic; Leonard, Tanganga, Cooper, Bryan; Honeyman, Saville, Mitchell, Watmore; Flemming, Obafemi

Leeds United vs Millwall prediction

Daniel Farke’s side have been enjoying an excellent run of form and they are expected to prevail against Millwall on Sunday.

The Lions have made a good comeback under Neil Harris but we don’t see them beating Leeds at Elland Road.

Leeds United 2-1 Millwall
