Leeds United forward Tyler Roberts set to join Birmingham City

Leeds United forward Tyler Roberts is reportedly close to joining Birmingham City.

This is according to the Daily Mail who report the Championship outfit are looking to complete the 24-year-old’s signing early next week.

The two clubs are said to have held positive talks with each other and are expected to agree a fee around £750,000 plus add-ons.

Roberts joined the Whites from West Bromwich Albion in January 2018 for an initial £2.5m.

However, he has failed to make an impact at Elland Road, struggling for form and goals.

The Wales international has made 108 appearances in all competitions for the Peacocks so far, but managed to score on only nine occasions.

He was loaned out to Queens Park Rangers last summer after starting only seven Premier League matches in the 2021-22 season.

Roberts’ temporary stint at Loftus Road saw him earning 20 senior appearances with four goals to his name.

But now he is set to make a permanent move to another Championship club Birmingham City after he was deemed surplus to requirements at Elland Road.

Leeds United’s results this season was hugely disappointing as they suffered the drop to the second tier on the final day.

They are now likely to lose a lot of their important players including the likes of Weston McKennie, Jack Harrison, Illan Meslier, Rodrigo, Robin Koch and Luis Sinisterra.

The West Yorkshire outfit are yet to appoint a new manager after the departure of Sam Allardyce, but Daniel Farke, Carlos Corberan and Scott Parker are reportedly their top targets for the vacant post
