Leeds United pulled off a miracle feat when they secured Premier League survival on the final day of the 2021-22 season.
But they couldn’t perform the same magic this campaign, ending up 19th in the league table with five points adrift of safety.
The Whites lost Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips in the summer, but they also brought in the likes of Brenden Aaronson, Tyler Adams and Rasmus Kristensen in what was a busy transfer window for them.
Jesse Marsch led them to an impressive start but their form dropped off as the season progressed.
The American boss might have been sacked much earlier than February if he hadn’t inspired two spectacular victories over Liverpool and Bournemouth.
But after the departure of Marsch, Javi Gracia and Sam Allardyce also failed to keep the West Yorkshire outfit in the Premier League.
Leeds United have now appointed Daniel Farke as their new manager as they prepare for life in the Championship.
The German boss will have to add several new recruits in the 2023 English transfer window, with the Peacocks expected to lose many of their stars.
Leeds recently confirmed their summer pre-season friendlies ahead of the 2023-24 season.
The Whites will take a trip to Norway to play Manchester United at the Ullevaal Stadium in Oslo.
They will subsequently be in action against AS Monaco on July 22 at the LNER Community Stadium in York.
The West Yorkshire outfit will play their final preseason fixture with Scottish outfit Hearts, a week before their league opener with Cardiff City.
