Leeds United are top favourites to make an immediate return to the Premier League at the end of this season.
The Whites have won 12 of their 13 matches in the new year to overtake Leicester City to the top of the Championship standings on goal difference.
Manager Daniel Farke may already have started preparations for life back in the English top-flight.
The Yorkshire outfit moved on several fringe players in January but they also face decisions on many others’ futures at Elland Road.
Below are some players Leeds could look to sell in the summer transfer window to help raise funds for new arrivals.
Max Wöber
Max Wöber joined the Championship side in January for a £10 million fee from RB Salzburg.
He was one of the few players who impressed for the Whites during his 16 top-flight appearances, despite the club suffering relegation.
Wöber left for Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer and has done a decent job for the German outfit, starting 21 Bundesliga matches and scoring a goal.
Leeds are cash strapped and so they could listen to offers for the 26-year-old in the summer.
Junior Firpo
Junior Firpo remained sidelined for the majority of the first half of the 2023-24 season due to injury problems.
But he returned in December and has since been starting regularly in Daniel Farke’s first team.
The 27-year-old’s recent displays have been very positive but the Yorkshire side may decide to sell him due to his high wages at Elland Road.
His contract at the club will expire in 2025, and so they will likely not receive a huge fee for him.
Joe Gelhardt
Joe Gelhardt was expected to play more regularly for the Whites this season following their relegation to the Championship.
But that hasn’t been the case at all, with the 21-year-old limited to just two league starts.
His first-team prospects at Elland Road don’t look great and surely a move is needed for the forward.
