23-year-old star produces stellar performance in Leeds home victory against Millwall

Leeds United star Ethan Ampadu produced a stellar performance on Sunday as they beat Millwall 2-0 at Elland Road.

Wilfried Gnonto scored the opening goal on 33 minutes with a tremendous strike from the edge of the box.

The hosts came close to doubling their lead early in the second half before Dan James came off the bench to wrap up a comfortable win with a close-range finish.

The victory means the Whites are top of the Championship standings on goal difference, with Leicester City having an extra game in hand.

Ethan Ampadu, who has been tipped to be the future Wales captain by manager Rob Page, produced a brilliant performance in front of the Elland Road crowd to play a key role in their win.

The 23-year-old was very calm and composed throughout the game. Some of his long-range passing was a little wayward but his overall stats were excellent.

The Whites skipper had 100 touches in the match with 83 percent passing accuracy.

He won all of his six aerial duels and also completed an interception, a tackle and a clearance.

Ampadu has been a massive part of the reason Daniel Farke’s side are currently at the top of the Championship table.

He played the first half of the season as a defensive midfielder before seamlessly moving back into central defence.

The 23-year-old has started all 38 matches for Leeds this campaign, with an assist to his name.
